Info Sihat Bersama I-Medik: Demam Denggi

Sejak akhir-akhir ini kita dikejutkan dengan peningkatan kes denggi yang mendadak. Pada tahun 2013, terdapat sebanyak 19,872 kes dilaporkan, di mana 88 kes daripadanya berakhir dengan kematian.

Demam denggi merupakan sejenis penyakit yang disebabkan oleh Virus Denggi yang disebabkan oleh Nyamuk Aedes. Cara penyebarannya adalah melalui gigitan nyamuk daripada orang yang berpenyakit denggi kepada orang yang sihat.

Virus denggi akan terpendam di dalam badan pesakit selama 3 hingga 14 hari sebelum menunjukkan gejala-gejala tertentu. Pesakit mungkin mengalami demam mengejut diikuti berbagai tanda-tanda dan gejala-gejala yang tidak khusus.

Apakah gejala-gejala demam denggi?

Antara gejala-gejala demam denggi adalah demam yang tinggi, sakit pada tulang-tulang dan otot-otot, sakit-sakit sendi, sakit pada bebola mata, ruam atau bintik pada kulit, pendarahan bawah kulit, hidung atau gusi, muntah-muntah, sakit perut dan ulu hati dan juga hilang selera makan.

Siapakah yang berisiko dijangkiti denggi?

Pada asasnya, semua orang berisiko untuk dijangkiti denggi, terutamanya mereka yang tinggal di kawasan-kawasan endemik seperti yang telah dilaporkan oleh Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia.

Bagaimana mencegah denggi?

Pertama sekali, pastikan diri anda dilindungi dari gigitan nyamuk. Anda boleh menggunakan bahan pembunuh nyamuk atau menggunakan jaring penghalang nyamuk di tingkap-tingkap rumah anda. Kedua, elakkan daripada melawat ke kawasan-kawasan berisiko tinggi pada siang hari, kerana nyamuk aedes sangaat aktif pada waktu tersebut.

Seterusnya, musnahkan tempat-tempat pembiakan nyamuk dengan cara-cara berikut; pastikan anda selalu menukar air di dalam pasu bunga atau bekas air. Pastikan juga anda menutup rapat bekas-bekas air tersebut. Anda juga boleh memasukkan ubat-ubat pembunuh jentik-jentik ke dalam bekas tersebut. Seterusnya, buangkan air dan basuh pengalaspasu-pasu bunga di rumah anda dan jangan lupa memeriksa saluran air hujan pada bumbung rumah anda dan buang apa jua bahan yang boleh menyekat saluran air.

Ingat! Pastikan persekitaran rumah anda bersih daripada punca pembiakan nyamuk.

Penutup

Sebagai pesanan akhir, jika anda mengalami demam berpanjangan dan mempunyai gejala-gejala denggi, segeralah bertemu dengan doktor untuk pemeriksaan lanjut. Jika anda disyakki denggi, anda berkemungkinan di masukkan ke dalam wad atau dibenarkan pulang dengan pemantauan keputusan darah. Pastikan juga anda minum air sebanyak 2 hingga 3 liter sehari.

Saudara, denggi boleh membawa maut. Sayangilah diri dan keluarga anda dengan bersama mencegah denggi.

Mystery Behind the High Heels

Many do not know the hidden disease behind this high heels. High heels are designed to push the chest forward and the hips backward, so the spine is out of it's original position. This causes health problems not only to the feet but the whole body. It can cause uncomfortable urination, problem of the back and the hips if one wearing it for a long time. Besides, it also can cause pain the jaw, neck and head.

This is what was a mystery  for us actually, is it the designer of high heels purposely create the high heels to force women to show their breasts and buttocks while standing and walking? is this Jewish conspiracy and freemanson? Let us think about it together!

Hazard of Smoking to the Individual, Family & Environment

Smoking is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Smoking still remains one of the leading cause of preventable death. Smoking has the dubious distinction of affecting all the systems from head to foot. Citizens of western countries no longer regard smoking as a good option to relieve their stress. Numerous universities worldwide do not allow their students to smoke in the campus.

General facts about smoking:
  • About 111, 000 people die every year due to smoking or passive smoking.
  • One person dies every 5 minutes from smoking related diseases.
  • The NHS spend over four hundreds million pounds each year on treating smoking related illness.
  • Cigarettes and other smoking materials are a very common cause of fires.
  • Smoking materials account for almost 240 deaths every year.
  • Out of 6, 600 fires 40% are cause by smokers- thats 2, 640 fires!

How smoking ruin the body:
  • Heart disease- nicotine raises blood pressure making the heart work harder therefore it need more oxygen which is cut down from carbon monoxide from getting to the heart. This cause severe heart attacks. 
  • Lung cancer- this start with the smokers cough producing lots of phlegm. Chest infection and bronchitis begins causing the lungs to be destroyed.

How does smoking affect non-smokers:
  • Non smokers can suffer from passive smoking.
  • Non smokers can suffer from sore eyes, sneezing, runny nose, headaches, coughing, wheezing and hoarseness all due to other people's smokes
  • Children of smokers have a very high risk of getting bronchitis, pneumonia and other chest infections.
  • Asthmatic have a high risk of getting attacks due to other people's smoke.
  • Non smokers have a high risk of getting lung cancer due to other people's smoke.

How the environment affect the environment:

  • Each cigarette manufacturing machines uses 4 miles of paper per hour which could be used instead for many other important things.
  • Tobacco is the most widely grown non-food crop in 120 countries therefore less land is available for food crop. Between 10 to 20 million people could be fed if food crop was grown in its place.
  • Burning tobacco is the main source of indoor pollution in the developed world as it contains over 4,000 dangerous chemicals.
  • One whole tree is needed to cure the tobacco for 300 cigarettes.
  • Cigarette smoke generates contains two of the main gases related to the greenhouse effect they are carbon dioxide and methane.
  • If  smoker smoked a packet of cigarettes a day, the habits would cost around $1800 per year. Wouldn't they rather do something fun or beneficial with that money, like donate to the orphan.
  • A broken leg of a smoker takes 80% longer to heal than a nonsmoker (276 days compared to 146).
  • Secondhand smoke cause 3,000 causes of lung cancer in nonsmokers each year.
